Here’s why Seth Godin’s Tribes is a fine book:
I uploaded the audiobook version into my iPod Touch, and brought it with me to Atlantic City last Saturday for a day of $1/$2 no-limit Texas hold ‘em. I listened to the whole thing more than two times, and won several hundred dollars.
That’s a percent return in the tens of thousands. Before I have a chance to use much of the good advice within. And the message within is good: anyone can lead, leading means forming a tribe around ideas and then acting for the good of the tribe. Innovate without fear of criticism, as this particular fear prevents you and your tribe from greatness. It’s a great message in a world where the workplace is becoming more distributed, a world where great leadership is becoming more and more important.
Heck, just listening to the man’s voice helps me rake in the cash.
